Missed Lessons:
✰ If student must miss a lesson and the studio has been notified well in advance (at least 48 hours before the lesson), the
student's lesson will be either rescheduled for another day that week. Advance notice enables me to schedule make-ups. You
may have two lessons in one week or if possible some extended lessons (by fifteen minutes) until the time missed is made up. I
may chose to grant a credit toward the next month's tuition only if a make-up lesson is impossible to schedule. If the student
cancels the day of the lesson (for instance because of illness), it is too late for me to schedule anyone else for that time. That
lesson must therefore still be paid for by the student.
However I will always try to schedule a make-up.
✰ Lessons missed by the teacher for any reason will be made up. If that is not possible, one lesson fee will be credited to the
next month.
✰ Any student with two unexcused absences is subject to dismissal. Consistent absenteeism (excused or unexcused) is
grounds for dismissal as well. I reserve the right to give the unused time to another student.
✰ Once you sign up, it is understood that your enrollment is for the entire academic year. Taking violin lessons is a serous
commitment. However if you need to stop taking lessons for any reason, please give me at least 2 weeks' notice by writing me (e-
mail is OK). Plan on finishing the month.
Supplies:
✰ Because it is so difficult to give lessons to students who left lesson supplies at home, parents are asked to take
responsibility for getting ALL lesson supplies to every lesson. I can not be expected to give a lesson to a student with inadequate
supplies.
Studio Conduct:
✰ Please -- plan ahead and be on time, so I may give you the full lesson time without conflicting with my other students’
scheduled times. I strongly recommend that one parent or adult care-giver is present during all lessons of children up to age 11.
Holiday and Snow Policy:
I will teach during most Holidays so please call the Studio on (503)772-1868 to check for cancellations.
