Lucia is a wonderful teacher who is willing to work with you no
matter your skill level. She has the ability to break down
techniques to their most simple form and then build it up to allow
you to incorporate it into your daily playing. Her own technical
skills are so precise, it allows you to see directly how to perform
the skill you are trying to master.
She is also a lot of fun, and playing should be fun and something
you enjoy.
I grew a lot while taking lessons from Lucia and hope to take
lessons again from her in the future.

I am an adult student, having not played my violin for nearly 50
years, and I consider myself very lucky that Lucia has agreed to
be my teacher. Lucia is a gifted teacher, quickly identifying my
“bad habits” and giving me exactly what I need to do to correct
them. She is a virtuoso violinist, but rather than playing in unison
with me, she observes my performance so as to give precise
instructions at the exact moment when they do the most good.
Her artistry shows in her teaching. When she plays a phrase, as
an example, I am inspired to play better and practice more. Her
warm, encouraging personality takes the stress out of learning.
I leave every lesson feeling as if she has given me exactly what I
need, and I have grown because of it. I can’t say enough good
things about Lucia, but one of her early comments struck me,
became part of me, and has changed the way I look at practice,
and playing the violin. I paraphrase with: “Our goal is more than
to play the violin, it is to make music.” Lucia helps turns a bunch
of notes into beautiful music – even the exercises.
If she had been my teacher 50 years ago, I probably would not
be starting all over again now -- but 50 years ago she wasn't
even born. If you are reading this because you are looking for a
truly great violin teacher, your search is over. I'm serious. Stop
looking and hope Lucia has room for you or your child.

Having Lucia as a teacher has been such a great experience.
Not only is she a good teacher, she is a good person, easy to
relate to, and fun to be around. I look forward to having my

Knows how to communicate and teach to physical, mental, and
everything else learners, Lucia Conrad knows what she's doing.
She points out the things to work on, and congratulates you for
your skill. She recognizes your strengths and weaknesses and
targets composers and songs that can be challenging and fun
for the student. I extremely recommend Mrs. Conrad. She makes
the lessons fun with her witty sense of humor.

she was a toddler. Now a teenager, she needed
someone to give her challenges that keep playing
and practicing interesting, fun and not boring.
Lucia is the perfect match. She is extremely
talented, professional, full of enthusiasm, just the
right amount, While pointing out the things that are
done incorrectly, she always praises the things
that are done right. She expects a lot, and gives a
lot. When we leave each lesson, my daughter
says, "That was fun!" Lucia is a true gem and I
highly recommend her to any age student. Her

over a year ago my daughter was struggling with
reading music, so I decided to get her into private
lessons. I am very happy that we chose Lucia to
be her teacher! She is patient, understanding, and
very knowledgeable about the violin. Lucia's
professionalism and natural gift of teaching made
a huge difference in my daughter's confidence,
and now she is eager to play and try new things. I
would highly recommend Lucia Conrad!

I couldn't have asked for a better teacher for my
daughter! Lucia is kind, caring, and pushes each
student to do their personal best in a positive way.
She's understanding when they are having an off
lesson or struggling with something, directing the
lesson to something she know's they will succeed
at so they can leave the lesson on a positive note.
My daughter is usually almost her last student of
the day and she remains upbeat, positive and
eager to teach. I know that Lucia will always teach
my daughter correct techniques and continue to
"push" that they be done right. My daughter knows
from watching the other middle school orchestra
kids, that not all teachers are like this. It's made all
the difference for my daughter while she's in
middle school orchestra.
